Quality checks

What we check before we share your job

Before our team shares a homeowner's job with a tradesperson, that tradesperson has been through our verification. Here is what that means in practice.

Company check

For limited companies we match the registered company name and number against public records. Sole traders confirm how they trade and the name they work under.

  • Company details reviewed by our team
  • Trading name and business type recorded

ID check

Every tradesperson provides an official photo ID, a passport, a national ID card or a digital ID certificate. Our team checks it is genuine and matches the person who applied.

  • Reviewed by a member of our team
  • Stored securely and never shown to homeowners

Skills check

For regulated trades such as gas, heating and electrical work, we ask for the relevant certificate. For other trades our team reviews experience and the work described in the profile before approving.

  • Certificates requested where the law expects them
  • Experience and trade details reviewed by our team

Complaint monitoring

Verification is not a one-off. We follow up complaints, review feedback after jobs, and act when the Quality Standard is not met.

  • Complaints investigated fairly
  • Verification can be paused or withdrawn

What these checks are not

Our checks help you choose with more confidence, but they are not a guarantee of any particular piece of work. Always agree the scope and price in writing, and ask to see insurance and certificates for your job.
